Franchisor requires franchisee to purchase and use specific computer systems: Square (credit card processing and payroll software), Acuity (scheduling software at estimated $27/month), accounting software (QuickBooks recommended at estimated $30/month), with credit card processing fees of 2.6% plus 10 cents per transaction (in-person) or 2.9% plus 30 cents (online). Franchisee must purchase laptop, tablet, mobile phone (initial hardware cost $6,000-$7,000) and Square Reader. Franchisor can require upgrades at any time with no limits on frequency or spending. Franchisor provides Manuals (table of contents in Exhibit N) containing necessary and material System information. Franchisor has no obligation to provide ongoing maintenance, support, or upgrades; estimated annual maintenance cost is $600. Franchisee must maintain high-speed Internet and email account for franchisor communication.
