Dollar Rent A Car

Dollar Rent A Car, Inc. grants franchises for the establishment and operation of vehicle rental businesses that provide vehicles for hire without a driver for periods of 365 days or less, whether for transient rental purposes or insurance and mechanical-related vehicle replacement purposes.

Franchisee must purchase or lease and maintain a Computer System at franchisee's expense with capacity to electronically exchange information via Internet using industry standard protocols (e.g., TCP/IP); franchisor reserves the right to retrieve data from the system by modem or other means 24 hours, seven days a week. Franchisee must purchase and utilize an Approved Counter System (software) designated in the Operations Guide, estimated to cost $11,500 to $250,000 depending on number of systems installed; estimated annual update/upgrade costs range from $0 to $500 per year. Franchisee must maintain PCI-compliant security service subscription. Franchisee must provide franchisor free and unfettered access to retrieve any data and information from computers, including electronically polling daily information. All data collected is owned exclusively by franchisor. Franchisor may require franchisee to acquire Computer System components from approved suppliers, which may include franchisor or its affiliates as the sole approved supplier.
